Torrii Fedrick, 43, was found guilty of first-degree murder and aggravated assault about a week ago after killing her husband, Phil Fedrick, 40, in September 2021.

As People reports, she was sentenced to life in prison in the US state of Georgia.

According to MSN, she was first arrested in November 2022 after an autopsy was carried out on the body of the deceased. A poison, which is mainly used in antifreeze, was discovered in his body.

Although the murder took place four years ago, the 43-year-old could only now be held responsible for the crime, as her children have also withdrawn their original statements.

Initially, the offspring had said that they had seen their father drinking a lethal mixture of the poison. They later clarified that this was not the case.

Death of Phil Fedrick initially classified as suicide

The son even explained that he only told the investigators what they wanted to hear at the time.

Phil died about a week after being admitted to hospital. Even then, the staff suspected that he might have been poisoned, but the case was initially dismissed as a suicide.

Torrii also stated in court that her husband's death was due to suicide. However, it remains unclear why the 43-year-old mixed the poison into her partner.
